🎬 Cities in Love
A film, five cities, one melody — reimagined through sound.
“Cities in Love” is a feature film set across Florence, Prague, Paris, Shanghai, and Otaru (Hokkaido), portraying five interwoven love stories, each rooted in a unique cultural and emotional landscape.
The original musical theme—a 16-bar melodic phrase—was generously gifted by renowned Japanese composer Shigeru Umebayashi, a close friend of the film’s producer. This simple yet evocative melody became the emotional thread that ties the film together.
Building on this theme, our team created five distinct musical arrangements, each crafted to reflect the rhythm, mood, and spirit of its respective city. From European elegance to Eastern introspection, the score evolves in style and instrumentation, while maintaining a unifying sonic identity.
